So, caught up on E3. I got super hyped. The Last Guardian? I cried. I've been waiting for that for SO LONG.

But then I hoped on tumblr and... ugh. It's the same as it always is.

"Omg, everything at E3 is sexist! The only good games have girls in it!" (seriously?) or "LOL Ubisoft fails again!"

Like shit. I'm happy to see any games. All of them are looking good. But nope. No fun on tumblr. You HAVE to hate Ubisoft. You HAVE to hate EA. Everything from them is bad but Bioware! (yeah, ok). Like, it's ridiculous. I feel like a 90s kid again where all these new games bring up excitement for me to play them. But you look at the gaming "communities" online and everyone is bitching that everything sucks.

Like sheesh. I get you can criticize but it's like nowdays people are doing it to just be cool. I wish I could find someone who gets hyped about all the games like I do but it seems that if you're not criticizing trailers, you're not a true gamer.

Yeah. Okay. I'm going to go back to having fun instead of whining. Have fun with your shit, tumblr.

I haven't heard of The Last Guardian before E3, but the trailer for it looked awesome! Kinda lol'd at the comments on youtube though. Everybody is wondering when that dog/lemur/bird/bat thing is gonna die...lol.

The 90's was the golden era of games. Everybody was way more positive back then because games were still relatively a new thing (though officially the 80's were the 'golden era', but I wasn't born back then so not like I can agree to something I've never experienced). Final Fantasy 7, for example, had terrible graphics excluding the cut scenes and the steampunk-esque artwork. But people loved it anyway because of the story! Now they're going to remake it and I'm so happy <333

I'm also starting to think that perhaps people think it's "cool" to be so negative about today's games. Think hipsters, but replace your indie bands with EA and Ubisoft. I don't blame them *too* much though, because it had gotten to a point where nice visuals were the main selling pints for games. Boring storyline/gameplay, but realistic looking backgrounds and humans. At least the developers are trying to fix that now...like Watchdog...

Trico better not die. I will cry worse than in Shadow of the Colossus when you lose Agro.

Oh man, the graphics were crap but everything was exciting. I remember watching my cousins play Banjo-Kazooie and just imagining where games are going. Then we hit that limit where people look more people than real people and physics and WOW PITTSBURGH LOOKS INCREDIBLE to... just negativity all around. I believe you should be able to criticize but if I want to play a game because it's shiny and pretty I mean... that's on me? Just because I play as a man doesn't mean it's sexist. And let's be honest, most video games have hokey plots anyways. They're no better than movies.

Ahahah Watch_dogs. I have that game somewhere, unplayed, with the limited edition guide. I doubt I'll mind it. I mostly wanted to play it to see Defalt anyways.

But my problem is, games aren't fun anymore if they're not going for Oscar awards. Yes, the Last of Us is incredibly emotional and stunning but shit, sometimes I want to just blow up the Eiffel tower in Call of Duty or act stupid in a Team Fortress 2 game. Every reviewer these days are like:

"This lacks women. Also, different sexualities and minorities. Plus, you call that a plot? 0/10 for Bejewelled."

Like srsly guys. There's different modes of entertainment. Not all of it is going to be good. Look at me, I like "the worst zelda game ever, Twilight Princess" and feh. I'll replay the shit out of that. Lookit me throw bombs everywhere! Ha ha! I'm gonna go on a bug hunt! Whee!

ahahaha Bejewelled. But I don't get it. People actually complain that games are sexist because there aren't enough female characters? (I guess they forgot about Lara Croft, Jill Valentine, the FF girls, etc...)

I'm sure that even if EA released a game that features a biracial, transgendered female knight fighting for the rights of historically-oppressed minotaurs in a post-apocalyptic world, people will still complain about the lack of variety.

EA has. It's called Dragon Age and tumblr constantly bitches at how it sucks because UGH people like the WHITE BOY and won't go for the lesbian romances WHICH ARE TERRIBLE BECAUSE THE WHITE BOY RELATIONSHIP IS MORE FULFILLING AND THE LESBIAN IS ABUSE! SEXIST! MYSOGNY! BURN EA!
