I told you I ship 'em.

So, after he sort of teases her because ha ha, you care about me, he does shut up when they get to the Deep Market because what the fuck. This shit is not okay. And it really isn't. Like there's a dead Nord woman with a dead falmer over by a pillar, skeevers, blood spattered stone... like the fuck. These are his first encounters with a falmer since Falkreath is BLESSED not to have ANY. Shocking, I know. So, naturally, kill everything.

And, here's the thing. The ledges there are small at times. There are two falmer on the top who hit hard and they actually knocked Serana off the ledge. When she came back up, it was bear hug time because holy fuck. I would have died.

Now it's her turn to make fun of him and he mouths off and she finds it funny because well, well, well. What do we have here? A hypocrite. He trudges on, telling her off annnnd surprise! The boss is a Centurion. Fucking piece of shit. Serana was busy freaking out over Chaurus behind a novice locked gate so Siddgeir had to battle this on his own. He got a few burns, but ultimately he won. Serana came last minute with her magic which was useless fyi.

Then it was to the Raldbthar treasures. Some weird ass blue shard and a puzzle that bothered the fuck out of Siddgeir.

They leave briefly through the elevator but no, he won't let it go. They need to go back.

He eventually figures it out, leading to a staircase and both of them find out what Blackreach is. And Siddgeir HATES it.

The Soul Cairn was beautiful compared to this creepy shit. But Serana is excited. This place exists and in Mzark, the scroll lies! They are close! He just goes along with it because what the fuck, this is horrible.
They do eventually see a tower in the distance and make for it. If anything they can use it as a vantage point if it's not the right thing.

But it is!

Siddgeir dealt with this. Dwemer puzzles make more sense to him than Serana. He really just hit the random buttons for a while until the buttons were revealed. The journal he found wasn't that helpful but you know.

They get the scroll and go back. Dexion is still resting so they have some time off. Sorine got her schematics, Gunmar is pleased about the vampires getting taken care of and Florentius is still weird. They are interested in how they managed to get two Elder Scrolls in such a short time but Siddgeir ignores it. He's tired and he goes up to go on patrol. Serana joins him to have a chat.

They're told pretty soon Dexion is up and go see him only to find... he's blind. Completely. But Dexion mentions if they can find some Ancestor Moths... then this could be saved. And Siddgeir knows where to find some.

He isn't the Jarl of a Hold for nothing, even if he doesn't act like it.
But this revelation of going back to Falkreath sort of reminds him that he isn't going to be with the Dawnguard forever. That is his place in this world.

Serana shrugs it off, sort of. I mean, she's basically a vampire princess. And she doubts the people of skyrim will actually appreciate what they and the Dawnguard are doing. That's just life. And as she's lamenting on, oh, what will she do after this he sort of reacts because fuck it. He could damn well die in that cave full of moths tomorrow.

And she doesn't pull back.
